Digital Ballasts

Digital Ballasts use electronic circuitry to power HID light bulbs instead of the magnetic coil found in conventional ballasts. This results in a lightweight, quiet and efficient power plant. Digital Ballasts will reduce electrical consumption by at least 10%! Digital Ballasts can power both Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium. (NOTE: Digital Ballasts do NOT have selectable or convertible voltage).

Glass Inserts & Air Cooled Kits

Glass reflector inserts are made from tempered safety glass, and they help protect your expensive bulb from water, dust and fingerprints. Also reduces heat under the reflector--a must for air cooling! (Metal Halide systems require a glass insert to be UL Listed).

To purchase an air cooled kit for a Hydrofarm light system, select the appropriate glass insert for your system plus an air cooled flange kit. To complete your air cooled system, choose a squirrel cage blower or inline fan plus aluminum ducting from our Ventilation and Air Exchange section.
